Living in Whitby, 18 months on

A stranger in a strange town...

Living in Whitby, 18 months on

When I left Scarborough to live in London, many moons ago (awoooo), it felt the same, empty! I knew nobody, yet life was everywhere, I was just an observer of it.

But, over time, I got to meet people and make some life long friends. Whitby, is a mix of contradictions, not all of them pleasant to an outsider. I am a stranger in a strange town, less so now. Its a strange warmth, the familiarity of the East Coast, the seasons, the smells, the warmth, the cold, the sounds of seagulls. Not as aggressive as Scarborough ones, I can tell you!

I am happy to be here, I have made friends, yes, met and meet some really nice people, both local and transient, the holiday maker, the visitor, the regular. It's all pretty wonderful really. You make your home where you rest your hat, or something like that, perhaps your phone these days! ;-)

My head, prefrontal cortex, or there abouts.
